Upcoming Mission Trip 2017

Our Haiti Mission Team Trip 2017 is planned for 2 weeks in January. We are dedicating this trip in memory of Bob Featherstone ( Haiti 2010).

Our trip will be to Soaring Unlimited in Cap-Haitien, Haiti and Soarings' Clinic in Pistere.  Our intended projects include; layout of and breaking ground for the new Birthing Center, installing a septic system, begin a storage building, teaching music, crafts, English and nutrition classes, distribution of books, clothing, shoes and food to school children.  A list of team members is posted on the church bulletin board.

Haiti is the most dangerous place on earth for a mother to give birth! Soaring's Birthing Center will offer a safe, sanitary, clinical environment with trained midwives assisting.

Planned projects are estimated to cost $6,500 USD. Eaton Rapids' 1st United Methodist Church will match the first $2,000 we raise and we're off to a good start. Gifts of any size to: Haiti Mission Trip 2017 Acct: 20376 (memo line) are welcomed. Questions? Call Staton Lorenz, team leader at;  231-492-2121. Be a blessing to someone today.

Thank You,
Staton

Haiti Trip 2016

Five people represented Central on a VIM Trip to Soaring Unlimited in Cap-Haitian, Haiti.  Jean Coodrod and Susan Nichols dedicated their time to working with the children who came to the Soaring Clinic each day after school.  They played games, learned how to play one of the three violins that Jean provided, learned new songs in English and Creole, and had their pictures taken.  The pictures were framed and presented to the children at a graduation ceremony before the team left.

Kevin Hahn, David Conrad and Staton Lorenz spent their working days preparing a boys orphanage building for a new roof.  They worked with and trained three Haitian men during that time.  This project was part of an ongoing collaboration among Soaring Unlimited, Heartland UMC, Faith Reformed Church and Central UMC.

Daily devotions, great food each night, a chance to further relationships with our Haitian friends and visits to two Methodist Churches and a couple area attractions made for a great trip.

Thank you for your support!
